SAVE THE WELL
The only source of water in the community is a pond fed by a traditional spring which is not clean and often full of clay. In the dry season, People, mainly women and children, start fetching water at 4.00am and finish by 7.00am. The dry season shrinks the pond to a puddle.
To get clean potable water for the community and visitors, the villagers have to walk about 8 kilometers to a fresh water well. Jugs, carried water on the head, are the only means of transportation. The community is in desperate needs of an improved water source. Our goal is to have a borehole dug within the bounds of the community on the site of the future school by a local contractor. The estimate for this project is $6,000USD. Please support this project to improve the water system for the community!
